I am Richard Hanson, a current 3L Law Student at the UNC School of Law at Chapel Hill. Alongside this, I am a web-designer and I specialize in e-commerce. I was born in Wilmington, NC, and lived there until 3rd grade. Due to my father’s occupation of being a Lutheran pastor, I frequently moved as a child. Since graduating high school, I have lived in Wilmington, NC, and Raleigh, NC.
I attended North Carolina State University where I graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Poltical Science, with a concentration of International Politics, a minor in History, and a Global Perspective Certificate. At NC State, I participated in multiples clubs such as Astronomy Club, Clown Nose Club, Lutheran Campus Ministries, Freethinkers Club, and She’s the First.
My involvement in politics has been working on the Obama 2012 campaign, the Gene McLaurin 2012 campaign, working with NextGen, a pro-environmental Super Pac, and most recently McManus for School Board Committee. My involvement also includes my participation in Together We Can, a nonprofit, where I have examined --first hand-- the political structures of nonprofits.
My hobbies include creating coding consisting mostly in web-design, trying new foods, and surfing at Wrightsville Beach.
